TORRANCE, CA — May 14, 2001 — LEDtronics® announces an extensive line of direct incandescent replacement S6 Candelabra-Screw Based LED Lamps that are designed to replace incandescent S6 candelabra-screw based lamps in miniature utility switches, industrial control panels and other applications that demand durable and energy-efficient light sources. This new generation of S6 LED lamps integrates the latest LED chip technology for the brightest illumination, and is plug-compatible with illuminated switches and indicators from major manufacturers. LEDtronics® S6-Based LEDs are offered in two types of LEDs: (1) single and (2) multichip, which provides continuous light even if one or more emitters fail. S6-Based LEDs are available in the following colors and derivations thereof: Green (10,000mcd), White (6,000mcd), Blue (3,000mcd), Yellow (7,000mcd), Red (3,500mcd), and Orange (6,500mcd).

Due to their solid-state construction, LEDtronics® LEDs lamps are ideal for industrial installations that are subjected to vibration, shock and environmental stress, all which reduce the life of incandescent lamps. LEDs feature almost instantaneous turn-on and turn-off without transients. Applications include indicators for process controls, aircraft instrumentation, elevator panels, automobile lighting, medical and scientific equipment, and panel mount indicator lamps. LED lamps last 30 - 50 times longer that the incandescent lamps they replace, and their low-current, high-efficiency operation delivers power savings of 80% - 90% or more. Additionally, LED lamps produce little or no heat resulting in lighted panels and switches that are cool-to-the-touch unlike those lit by incandescent lamps.

LED lamps can be supplied for all common indicator supply voltages from 5V to 220V DC or AC. These products feature built-in current-limiting resistors and polarity-protection diodes to assure that circuit modifications are not required. A typical LED lamp provides an intense beam of colored light. The viewing angle depends on the shape of the epoxy lens and the LED chip’s position within the epoxy lens. The intensity and wavelength remain stable over the lamp’s lifetime of 100,000-plus hours. (That’s 30-50 times longer than incandescent bulbs!) Additionally, LED lamps are environmentally friendly because they use 80% to 90% less operating power than standard incandescent bulbs. Think of the savings from reduced power usage, maintenance costs and less machine and operator downtime!

Founded in 1983, LEDtronics® leads where others only follow when it comes to designing, manufacturing and packaging state-of-the-art LEDs to meet the world’s constantly changing lighting needs. Our inventive product line encompasses an array of direct incandescent lamp replacement Based LED Lamps, low-cost snap-in and relampable Panel Mount LED Lamps and holders, high intensity sunlight-visible Discrete LEDs, PCB LEDs circuit board status indicators, surface mount diodes SMT LEDs, full-spectrum rainbow RGB LEDs and Infra-Red (IR) LEDs.

Prices for S6-Based LED lamps range from $6.56 to $13.80 quantity of 100, depending on LED color and cluster size. Samples are available to qualified customers. Ask for data sheet #012.
