Torrance, California–based lighting designer and manufacturer LEDtronics has launched a range of R16 LED Reflector Lamps.

The energy–efficient LED lamps feature a standard medium screw base measuring 26mm and a clear, lexan lens which can withstand shatters. The luminaires also incorporate a polycarbonate sleeve in shades of white. The sleeve has the capacity to resist adverse environmental conditions which helps the lamps cater to indoor as well as outdoor use.

The lamps are suitable to be used as display spot lights, showcase lights, area lights, signage, backlighting, reading as well as task lights. They further serve as individual pixels in a large dot matrix screen and moving signs. The luminaires are available at a cost of $49.50 each.

The design of R16 LED Reflector Lamps make them resistant to electrical and mechanical shock, vibration, frequent switching and environmental adversities. The lamps can disseminate light also in case of failure of one or more emitters in the LED cluster by installing additional LEDs.

The lamp pieces are sustainable with their power–efficient nature effectively complementing renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power. They offer a maximum of 90% reduction in energy expenses as compared to traditional bulbs while comprising an optimum lifeycle of 50,000 hours. The luminaires refrain from use of mercury and lead, slash light pollution when fitted in the outdoors and are almost zero– maintenance.
