TORRANCE, CA - March 12, 2002 - LEDtronics introduces Series RAB362 LED (Light
Emitting Diode) illuminators for back- and edgelighting applications. Featuring
two diode chips, RAB362 LEDs deliver exceptional illumination to make displays,
keypads and legends easier to read while preserving the lightweight, compact
nature of portable electronic devices. RAB362 LEDs offer a longer operating
life, superior brightness, lower voltage operation, and less heat emissions
when compared with alternative backlighting sources. These right angle, single-level
LEDs are designed for applications where the design requires the light source
to be perpendicular to the display plane. RAB362 LEDs measure x 0.362-inches
(9.19mm) long x 0.043-inches (1.09mm) wide x 0.059-inches (1.5mm) high. The
bi-pin design provides the stability necessary to align status indicators precisely.
Series RAB362 LEDs expand the options available for backlighting personal desktop
accessories, cellular telephones, keypads, palm pilots, data communication equipment,
active thin-film transistor (TFT) LCDs, display legends, etc.
Series RAB362 LEDs are available in two versions: (1) Ultra Sunlight Visible
and (2) Standard Intensity. Both versions feature water-clear lenses and 120°
angles. Ultra Sunlight Visible comes in ultra red (660nm, 80mcd at 20mA), super
red (630nm, 140mcd at 20mA), super orange (611nm, 120mcd at 20mA), super yellow
(595nm, 80mcd at 20mA), super green (574nm. 60mcd at 20mA), aqua green (525nm,
45mcd at 20mA), and super blue (470nm, 40mcd at 20mA). Standard Intensity LEDs
are available in ultra red (660nm, 80mcd at 25mA) high-efficiency red (635nm,
12.5mcd at 25mA), yellow (585nm, 10.0mcd at 25mA) and high-efficiency green
(567nm, 11.0mcd at 25mA).
With an average life span of 100,000-plus hours (11 years), LED lamps operate
more than 20 times longer than the equivalent incandescent lamp! Solid-state
design renders LEDs impervious to shock, vibration, frequent switching and environmental
