LED Narrow-Beam Bulb
27-FEB-09

TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 27, 2009 – LEDtronics Inc. has announced its latest generation narrow-beam (15 degrees) PAR30-style LED spotlight bulb. The general-purpose bulb comprises five 3-W high-power LEDs and replaces filament-based PAR30 bulbs, combining LED technologies, standard AC voltages, a 26-mm Edison screw-in base and a light-optimizing design. It produces 367 lm or 2938 cd total end foot candles of warm-white light.

The PAR30A LED bulb runs on 85 to 260 VAC and thus can be used anywhere in the world. Other voltages, such as 12 VAC or VDC are available as options. The lamp is a direct screw-in replacement for up to 75-W PAR30 incandescent or halogen bulbs and draws only 9.5-W maximum power.

The bulb produces up to 80 percent energy savings, provides high shock/vibration resistance and comprises high-power white LEDs that last up to 50,000 continuous hours. It is available in 3000 K warm white color temperature and has a color-rendering index of 80.

Because it uses LEDs instead of standard filaments, the bulb never gets hot and is safer and more economical than halogen bulbs, making it suitable for floodlights and other household and commercial down- or up-light cans and light fixtures. Applications include recess or track lighting, accent lighting, general area lighting, architectural and landscape lighting, display-case fixtures and cabinet lighting, signage spotlighting and backlighting, aerospace lighting systems, industrial OEM equipment lighting, biomedical applications and truck-bay dock lighting.

The bulb is RoHS- and CE-compliant. It can be used with alternative or renewable energy resources such as solar and wind power. It reduces light pollution and is compatible with the international “dark skies” initiative.
