LED-Based Bulbs Replace Exit-Light Incandescents
22-JUL-09

Using flame-retardant and impact-resistant polycarbonate instead of glass, EXL-TPW series LED-based exit-light bulbs offer a more reliable alternative to conventional T6 incandescent exit-sign tubes. The pure-white (5,000-K) bulbs have an average lifespan of more than 50,000 hours — more than 20 times longer than the equivalent incandescent bulb — to considerably reduce maintenance costs while helping ensure that emergency lighting remains operational 24/7.

Base-configuration options for the 120-Vac bulbs include E12 candelabra screw-in, E17 intermediate screw-in, and 15-mm dc bayonet, permitting easy replacement of incandescents such as 20T6½ DC or IF and 15T6. The LED lamps produce 21 to 25 lm depending on base and consume less than 1 W — up to 90% less than equivalent filament-based bulbs.

Compatible with most standard single- or double-sided exit signs, the bulbs comply with UL924 light output requirements and come with a 5-year warranty. ($19.95 — stock to 4 to 6 weeks for special requirements.)
