Do you have an LED lamp to replace an Incandescent #2233 Aircraft bulb? 1) Incandescent #2233 is a S-8, 15mm SC Bayonet, 28V, 0.77Amps, Aircraft bulb, (770mA), 21mscd (21,000mcd at every angle in full spectrum white light). 2) A) What, if any, is LEDtronics LED lamp replacement series part number? B) How many LEDs are required to replace this lamp? C) What is the angle of illumination that LEDs need to be? D) What color of LEDs is required?
Answer:
This will be LEDtronics (B600) series LED lamp. The LED cluster size and viewing angel will depend on the application. White LEDs (8000K) is currently best suited for task and area lighting. For reading light, spotlight or small projected beam lighting applications where the light source is only a few feet from the viewing area, a 7-LED or 9-LED (B607/B609-0xx-028N) would be sufficient. For larger area spotlighting, an 18 LED (B618-0xx-028N) cluster would be required. For a high-power reading Light or Spotlight a 30 LED (B630-0xx-028N) cluster would be needed, but for reasonably illuminated general area lighting, a 120-degree wide-angle 40-LED (B640-0xx-028W) cluster lamp will be required. Keep in mind a 120 degree 40 cluster LED lamp will only give you 1/5th the illumination compared to an incandescent lamp. For some application, low level LED lighting is much more acceptable due to the major advantages over many incandescent lamps, such as power savings, little to no heat generation and durability or long life in harsh environment.
